What is Freelancing?
Hello my readers!!!!
Today's topic is a bit economical but great in this corona lockdown, In this lockdown you should know what is freelancing.
In this new technological era, everything whether it is entertainment, Sports, games, banking, military, education, anything that you can think of is based on internet and cyberspace nowadays. Even finance, buying & selling (commerce), banking have taken an 'E' before their terms. Banking has now became E-Banking , Commerce has become E-Commerce now-a-days.
Just take a short example of our tertiary sector.
For those who don't know what the tertiary sector is I'm explaining, There are mainly three types of economical activities in a country:-
- Primary Sector
- Secondary Sector
- Tertiary Sector
Secondary sector:- This sector includes the processing of raw materials to make useful products from them. Take the example of cotton, Raw cotton is less useful and less expensive than the bag made from cotton. The sector which manages the processing and making useful products from raw resources is known as Secondary sector. This sector includes the factories and production houses.
Tertiary sector:- This sector includes all service providers and their services like transportation, telecom sector , IT sector, Fertilizer and pesticide providers, businesses, Your ISP ( Internet Service Providers) etc. All the sectors that provides you all the necessary goods and services for your convenience are all in tertiary sector. But it must not be confused with the first two sectors as it provides services using the resources that the first two produce.
For eg. take the example of a farmer, The farmer works in his fields and cultivate cotton. He managed to cultivate 1 quintal of cotton in his field (Primary activity) Using various services like irrigation system , Fertilizers, Weather reports etc.(Tertiary sector), Now when he will go to the wholesale market to sell this item, he will need transportation, Who will provide this transportation? Obviously the local trucks and vehicle owners( tertiary), the vehicle is made from iron, This iron must be extracted from somewhere (Primary sector) and then it would be processed in the form of a vehicle (Secondary sector). The farmer then sells its goods to a factory, the factory then will make cotton clothes with it. ( Secondary sector) so you have seen that the three sectors are interdependent.
Freelancing is the process in which there is a buyer and a service provider. In freelancing you need a service or a product from someone, that 'someone' will give you that product and you will pay him for his services. It is just like a shopkeeper he gives you goods and in exchange you pay him. but the difference is about medium. While meeting a shopkeeper you are physically present but while freelancing you are using the internet to meet your service provider. This service provider is known as a 'Freelancer' in terms of freelancing. It is just like Amazon where you where you buy products by viewing its ratings and images, But here's the difference by using Amazon you purchase a product but by freelancing you use a service. For eg. you have to make a logo for your brand, but you don't know how to make it , so you hire a freelancer to make a logo with a fixed amount as payment.
In short words, freelancing is a process where a person pays to a freelancer in exchange to his/her services. A freelancer is a person who does the buyer's task in exchange of payment.
Suppose your T.V. set is not working, you call a mechanic to repair it and when the job is finished you pay him/her for his services. In freelancing we do not do tasks like this but smaller tasks such as Thumbnail making,
