Why 4G?

Hey guys
Welcome to my new blog!!!!
In this blog I will discuss some topics related to 4G

So The first question is what is 4G?
4G is the fourth generation of cellular network technology succeeding 3G .
For eg you heard about Intel Processors ,they say that there processor is 8th Generation, 7th Generation, 6th Generation etc. So what is this term "GENERATION" It means that with the passage of time they are modifying and developing new things in the previous versions of their, the higher the generation ,the more useful, capable, efficient is the product. Like windows 7 is better than Windows XP, Windows 8 is better than Windows 7 . Likewise 4G is better than 3G and 2G.
It uses its Internet Protocol for everything even to deliver voice messages.

So let's go in some depth
What is an ISP
It is the Internet Service Provider. it is the company which provides facilities to connect to the internet.
  • Dial-up: This is a slow Internet service that uses a phone line ( Wired Network) The main disadvantage that you cannot use phone while working on the Internet.

  • DSL: Digital Subscriber Link. It uses broadband connection what is faster than dial-up. In this network you can use your phone and the internet at the same time. Distance affects which means how far your Phoneline is from the ISP the more far your landline will be the slower the net will be.

  • Cable: As the name suggests it uses large and thick wires for connecting the same residential area. The wires of different cables connected a network tower and that network tower also used wires to connect to The "Internet" It was faster than DSL. It speed was between 512kbps ( Kilo bytes per second) to 20 mbps ( mega bytes per second).

  • Satellite: It is used till today . It uses a broadband connection and mainly used for purposes like large scale media ( TV and Radio ) etc. and for military purposes and weather forecasting.
Then comes the 2G, 3G and 4G.
4G is a type of wireless network, it works like its other network there is a base station or a 'Tower' .
The 'Tower' connects your device to web ( Servers, other computers) for eg
You run your web browser in your device
your device sends signals to the base station that you want to connect to the Net
The ISP confirms your Id and connects you to the web.

So why 4G is so fast?
One of the main reason is 4G's capability , while 3G can support 100 users per base station, 4G can support 250 to 300 users ( and more) per base stations. It can connect users from far away for eg if 3G connects users under the area of 2km per square,  4G can connect users under the area of 4.5 km per square. It is advanced, better, uses stronger radio waves than 3G. Because of Advanced engineering and science it has become possible.

Advantages of 4G
Clearly 4G is much faster, better than 3G . you do not need to plug a large bundle of wires to connect to the web.
Are there any disadvantages of 4G?
If you go into a small town or village, there could be a 3G network , so you are paying for 4G but you are getting a 3G service .
Also where the area is large or population is dense 4G speed decreases.
For eg Jio 4G Before lockdown was average 700kbps but after lockdown it is 300kbps and sometimes 99kbps. because of the dense population and increased usage the speed decreased.
